The first record of coffee production on the farm "Três Barras" goes back to the year 1866. The farm took immediate steps to improve the quality steadily. New equipment was installed in 1914, drying-terraces were added in the year 1922.
The farm benefits from ideal growing conditions, and an elevation height of up to 1450 meters above sea level, which is pretty unusual for Brazil. The soil is very fertile and the region has the right mix of rain and sun, ideal for a good cultivation of coffee. Therefore it is of no great surprise that the farm has won a Cup of Excellence trophy more than once, last for the early and late harvest 2013.
